Balance overview on the platform (step 2)
What is my balance and how does credit work?

How your balance is composed, where to find it and what happens with insufficient credit.

Your balance on the eConnect platform is the available transaction credit used to process invoices. Each processed invoice, both sent and received, is charged per unit and deducted from your balance.

Where do you find your balance?

Your current balance is always visible via My environment. There you see the current credit and can top up immediately if needed.

How is your balance composed?

Your balance consists of top-ups (via iDEAL | Wero, Bancontact or invoice) minus the transaction costs. The cost per transaction depends on the type of processing:

  • Manual sending via the platform: free
  • Automatic sending (via software connection, API or email): from € 0,171 per invoice
  • Receiving an e-invoice (XML): from € 0,341 per invoice
  • PDF conversion (Scan & Recognise): from € 0,512 per invoice

Higher top-ups include bonus credit, so the effective cost per transaction is lower. See Top up transaction credit for the bundle tiers.

Shared credit

Credit is shared across all organisations in your environment. It does not matter which organisation sends or receives an invoice: the cost is deducted from the shared balance. You cannot split the balance per organisation.

Transaction overview

Want to see exactly which transactions were deducted from your balance? Go to My environment > Transactions for a detailed overview. You can export this overview as a CSV file (maximum 5.000 rows per export; use the filter for larger overviews).

Is this credit the same as a PSB document bundle?

No. This balance is prepaid euro credit on the eConnect Platform. Document bundles belong to PSB, not to this credit.

PSB-API has no public rate and no self-service to view or top up a document bundle. The rate per sent invoice depends on the partnership. Sending costs of a PSB-API customer are not deducted from this Platform balance.

What happens with insufficient balance?

With a negative balance, all API connections (SOAP and REST) are blocked and only administrators can still sign in to the platform. Regular users have no access until the balance is topped up.

Creating and sending invoices manually via the platform continues to work. Receiving invoices via Peppol and processing via the Email Receiver (forwarding email) also continue uninterrupted.

Topping up to exactly zero is not enough. The top-up invoice itself arrives and makes the balance negative again. Top up at least about € 0,34 above the current negative balance. € 0,68 is an example after a top-up to zero, not a fixed minimum. See Top up transaction credit.

As soon as you top up and the balance is positive again, API access via SOAP is restored immediately. For REST connections you may need to renew the API token or offer the API download again manually.

Outbound ERP connections (including AFAS) do not always recover after a balance block by resending in the ERP alone. Export the XML from your source package and upload it manually via Sales invoice → New invoice on the platform. Support does not export invoices from AFAS/ERP on behalf of the customer. See Create and send an invoice.

To avoid unexpected blocks, set up automatic top-up.

With a negative balance, the platform automatically sends repeated emails to the administrator address of the environment stating that the environment is blocked (reason: negative balance). These are not incident notifications: they stop automatically once the balance is no longer negative. If you receive these emails but you no longer manage the environment, or if sign-in or top-up fails, contact the actual environment administrator or restore your own access first.
